Hi guys! My first Holiday post (this year)!! Spoiler alert*** It’s a good one ❤ I have used Dr.’s REMEDY before and they are so good. These, though, blew me away. Totally high end status with polish that feels like it’s an indie! Let’s have a look.
MAGNETIC Midnight is such an exquisite polish. MM is described as “an intergalactic charcoal with glittery specks of multicolor shimmer, this mesmerizing lacquer is truly out of this world. Perfect for holiday parties when you feel like turning up the glam factor, it’s pretty much glitz in a bottle.” I’m gonna call this one a chocolate charcoal. It has a shimmer that really warms the polish and gives it a chocolatey hue. It is packed with holo flakies of different sizes! Totally an indie feeling polish. What’s even better is that MAGNETIC Midnight is a 1 coater. Totally opaque in 1 super smooth coat. You will see in my swatch video I have linked below 🙂 I used 2 coats (because that’s just what I do) plus glossy and matte top coats for my swatches. This polish is $17 USD. *This polish is not magnetic.
GIVING Garnet is another stunner! GG is described as “a shimmer-flecked flash of bold crimson color, this festive hue is about as holiday as it gets. Whether you sweep it on a single finger as an accent shade or go all-in with a ruby slipper-inspired mani—you’ll undoubtedly have a celebration on your hands.” I am so happy that they mentioned the ruby slipper thing. I have so many red glitter polishes, it’s one of my favs <3. NONE of them come as close as this to that ruby slipper feeling!! I put this one on as fast as I could. The base is a red jelly. Not pink that builds to red, but RED!! I find this to be a very hard thing to find for red jelly and/or crelly polishes. This is pretty much pure glitter so I recommend a peel off base coat and a really good top coat to smooth out the glitters. Formula was fantastic! I just can’t say enough about GIVING Garnet! I used 3 thin coats for my swatches plus glossy and matte top coats. This polish is $17 USD.
Can you see the dark green holly under the snow flakes? It got pretty lost 😦 The flakes are so cute though! So, if you’re just down here for a recap, YOU NEED THEM! I seriously cannot scream loud enough at you all that you must try these polishes, or at the very least, the brand. These are not only fantastic made polishes, they are more healthy for your nails then regular polish. They are enriched with things like: garlic bulb extract, vitamins C & E, wheat protein, tea tree oil, and more. Click HERE for more info on this polish made by doctors!! These are available now so what are you waiting for?? Let me know what you think in the comments 🙂 Links below.
Happy Monday! Today I have a Thanksgiving box inspired by Gilmore Girls “A Deep-Fried Korean Thanksgiving” from Wildflower Lacquer and LynB Designs 🙂 Before I go any further let me just add this to my list of shows to watch… Will it make me cry? I am super emotional to begin with so sappy is just too much for me. The sadness over fiction is real people!! Anyways, I know it’s super popular so chances are you have watched it and love it. If that’s the case, this box was made for you. I want to take you through a Thanksgiving dinner with this set so sit back and let your imagination and my pics do their work 🙂
Whether you do dinner at your house or someone else’s, whether it’s traditional or not, we all know the main “holiday scent”. You know, the spice with the slight sweet?! Oh, it’s so good. My mom used to put orange peels, cloves, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a pan on the stove and let it simmer slowly and it would fill the entire house with that warm cozy scent. We’ll Skip The Rolls IS JUST THAT!!! Seriously! It’s orange, cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove. This personal essential oil diffuser will totally put you in the holiday mood ❤ Are we ready for dinner?
Tofurky is a sheer greige (gray/beige) polish with purple and copper sparks and scattered ucc flakies that shift from red to orange to gold. Tofurky has a wonderful formula that starts very sheer but builds. After 3 thin coats I did still have a slight visible nail line but I don’t mind that. I actually feel that because the polish itself is dainty that the sheerness goes along with that perfectly. I used 3 thin, smooth coats plus glossy and matte top coats for my swatches.
For dessert we have Let’s Eat, And Eat, And Eat. This polish has a pinky red base with holo micro flakies and shimmer that shifts from golden to red to purple. Formula on this baby was fantastic. 2 coats plus glossy and matte top coats for my swatches. And some sweet nail art 😉
Now for second dessert!! C’mon…. we all know that’s a thing 🙂 Besides, you aren’t actually consuming anything anyways! Banana Girls is a wax melt that smells like freshly baked banana cream pie topped with juicy pearberry, and rounded out by the sweet aroma of vanilla. Guys, I have no clue what pearberry is but I don’t think it matters lol. It smells exactly like a fresh banana cream pie. The description is spot on ❤ I was able to cut it in half to use it twice and I have half melting right now. SO GOOD!!! How did I do? Did you get the whole dinner vibe? Now you need the box to make it official 🙂
The Gilmore Girl Thanksgiving Box will be available for preorder October 28th – November 4th in Wildflower Lacquer‘s shop. The box will be $20 USD plus shipping. The polishes will also be available separately for $10 USD each. Soooooo, just get the box so you get the wax melt and diffuser free!! Totally worth it ❤ Let me know in the comments what you like best! Links below 🙂 Have a great day all ❤
Hello! Happy hump day. Today I bring you a few pretties from Music City Beauty. This is a new to me brand. I was definitely excited to try them! This is the 5 year duo. 5 years in the indie polish business is no small feat. The time and effort that goes into owning your own small business is incredible! Congrats Kim ❤
The first polish is Dreams Come True. This is a dark royal blue scattered holo with pink, green and blue flakies. The formula was great. It went on smooth with no issues at all. The flakies were hard to capture on camera but they are there in person. Ill add a bottle macro so you can really see the flakes. I used 2 coats plus glossy and matte top coat for my swatch.
The second polish is called 5 Years And Counting. This one is a multi chrome that flashes between gold, green and red and has silver holo microflakies. 5 Years And Counting was flawless. Super easy to work with and oh so gorgeous. I tried my best to get all the shifts. You will see it best in the macros. I used 3 thin coats for my swatch plus glossy and matte top coats.
Overall, I am very happy with these polishes. I especially like Dreams Come True. The shade of blue is stunning. Dreams Come True will be $11 USD and 5 Years And Counting will also be $11 USD. They will also be available as a set for $19.80 USD. Be sure to act fast though because there are only so many sets available! The polishes will be available starting August 25th at 7pm CST through September 1st at 7pm CST or until they sell out. Let me know in the comments which one you like best! Links below 🙂 Have a good rest of the week ❤
Guys! I have some of the prettiest polish you have ever seen!! Jill has made more of her Glorious Glistenettes ❤ The Oceanic Overture Collection is going to be a 3 part series. Pay close attention to release dates because these are all going to be one batch then done! I have part 1 for you today and some cuticle oils! This will be a long post picture wise so I’ll cut the chit chat.
First up is Sea Turtle Sonata. This polish is a mega holo with purple/blue/green/teal holo ucc flakes and teal and blue shimmers. I used 3 coats with glossy and matte top coat (all G&G) for my swatches.
Dolphin Duet is also a mega holo base with bronze/red/gold/pink/purple holo ucc flakes and it’s loaded with pink/red shifting shimmer. My swatch shows 3 coats with glossy and matte top coats.
Last is Beluga Blues. Ugh so pretty. It’s a super holo polish with pink/red/gold/green holo ucc flakes, blue micro flakes and violet shimmer. My swatches show 3 coats with glossy and matte top coats.
Here is what I think: These are freaking fantastic! I do think that the shimmer is a little lost in the intense holo. When you matte it, it really comes out. The formula is as expected for Glisten & Glow, super smooth and easy to work with. These actually dry pretty fast too!
There will also be 3 new and 2 re-released cuticle oil scents. These will be in the new twist style! I am excited about this. Every time I put the cap on my pen click ones I would click it by accident lol!! This will stop that from happening 🙂 The 2 re-released scents are Summer Sorbet (a blend of orange, peach, watermelon, tangerine, and a touch of strawberry), and Nectars Of The Caribbean (Island fun blended with sweet fruit nectars). NOTC is my favorite of all and its so peachy/tangeriney ❤ Totally in love! Summer Sorbet is a subtle fruit salad. Not overpowering but very long lasting! The new scents are Pineapple Whipped Dream (juicy fresh cut pineapple with a touch of whipped cream), Papaya Mango Madness (tropical sweet mangos and papayas), and Seashore (clean scent of waves, air, and sun of a summer day by the seashore). The Pineapple Whipped Dream is neat. You can totally smell the pineapple and you can totally smell the whipped cream. But they also blend soooooo good ❤ Papaya Mango Madness is nice but not my cup of tea. I love mangos but I do not like papaya My mother in law loves it so she has been using it ❤ Seashore smells exactly like a seashore. That’s all I can say about it because the description is just spot on.
Now for the details. The Oceanic Overture Collection part 1, as well as the 5 cuticle oils, will be available on August 10th at 7pm EST. The polishes will be $11 USD each or $30 USD for the set. The cuticle oils will be $6.99 USD each. From August 10th – September 10th 2018, cuticle oils are the product of the month and will only be $4 USD each!! Stock up 🙂 I think that’s it! What was your favorite polish? Favorite cuticle oil scent? As always the links are below 🙂 Have a great night<3
Hello Lovelies ❤ It’s the weekend!! Any plans? I am at the in laws dog sitting 🙂 I love it so much. They have a boxer named Brisco and I swear he is my best friend<3<3<3 The in laws are on their way to pick up a new baby boxer right now! So excited 🙂 I am also really excited to bring you these new stamping polishes from Nadia at Moonflower Polish! I am still obsessing over the formula of these polishes! There is 4 iridescent, duochromey, holo jellies in this set. Let’s get to them 🙂
First things first, formula. AMAZING! These are 2-3 coat polishes but most worked for me with just 2! Which I think says a lot because I polish my coats very thin! You can’t even tell that its a jelly base really. It is super smooth and opaque. Not solid, but not sheer. And of course they are made to stamp. They do perfectly ❤ “For stamping, the effect should be a shimmery glow over a dark base or a bright pastel over lighter bases. If used as regular polish, 1 coat over black will enhance the duochrome shifts.” Ok seriously this time….
First polish is Amapola. “Reddish jelly holographic base that shifts red-pink-orange. Amapola means hibiscus in Spanish.” This color is so different. It’s like a rusty, rosey, reddish-pink. This one was the sheerest. I used 3 thin coats plus top coat.
Next is this fantastic blue! “Crepúsculo – blue jelly holographic base with a purple-blue-teal shift. Crepúsculo means twilight in Spanish.” I used 2 buttery coats and top coat.
I think this next one will be a favorite. Everyone loves a good purple. “Mariposa – purple jelly holographic base that shifts purple-silver-blue shift. Mariposa means butterfly in Spanish.” This one was also 2 thin perfect coats with top coat.
The last one is my favorite!! “Tortuga – yellow leaning green holo jelly base with a green-yellow-gold shift. Tortuga means turtle in Spanish.” This one is AWESOME! I have had it on my Cinderella hand for more than a week… by itself!! I never do that 🙂 So. Freaking. Pretty! I used 2 perfect coats with top coat for this baby. I forgot to take a single macro so I will update this when I do! This one has the strongest shift!!
So which one is your favorite? I love them all but Tortuga is just omg… Prices are $9 for the 15ml, $34 for the set. $5 for the 7ml minis, $18 for the set. Release day is March 16th at 9 am. Don’t miss them. Have a great weekend everyone 🙂
Sunday… a pretty crappy one too 😦 Rainy and chilly. Totally ready for warmer weather! Maybe this ocean looking polish from Sassy Pants Polish will help!! So, this is my first time using this brand. Wow was I impressed ❤ This polish is a part of the March 2018 Polish Pickup and will only be available from March 2nd – 5th 2018! HERE is where you can get the info about PPU and how it works! The theme for March is Books!!! Let’s get to that polish.
Where The Wild Things Are is the inspiration behind Wild Things. It’s an azure blue, holo, jelly polish with micro holo glitters and shreds. My favorite part is the purple/red shimmer! The formula was SOOOOO good for a jelly polish. The first coat was a bit sheer but it built up in 3 thin coats. It did not get totally opaque but the squishiness and glitter will keep you occupied so you won’t even mind the VNL 🙂 It is like looking into a carribean ocean. 3 coats with top coat!
Very oceanic right?! This polish will be $12. Make sure you have an alarm set because the time that this is available is small and strict! Links below 🙂 Hope the rest of your Sunday is relaxing!! TTYS friends ❤
Hello! Back again with another Polish Pickup contribution! If you don’t know how the Polish Pickup Pack works, clickHERE. Make sure you are a part of the group on Facebook to keep up on what’s available, and be able to give suggestions and vote! HERE is where you shop when it’s time. The theme for March is BOOKS and the shop will only be open from March 2nd – 5th, 2018! Let’s see what Allison, owner ofLE Polish, has to offer.
Here is a little of the inspiration! This is from the movie The Virgin Suicides. I have never seen this so I can’t comment on it. I am, however going to be watching it tomorrow because it’s what I do 🙂 “Women in Disguise is a bright blue polish full of color shifting flakies and an aqua to gold shift.” It is the perfect cerulean color ❤ ❤ ❤ MY FAVORITE!! I have been wearing my swatch for days and I am going to be sad when I take it off. Perfect jelly formula. Builds up perfectly in 3 thin coats. I also used top coat!
Isn’t it breathtaking? This would be perfect for any type of aquatic mani. I would love to do some twin nails with this when you buy it! Leave a comment if you’re interested. Have a great night ❤
Hello! Are we all addicted to Polish Pickup Pack yet? If not, click HERE to see what it’s all about. The theme for the month of March is BOOKS!!! Ladies are EXTREMELY happy for this month. Ash, from LevelUP Lacquer, is back with an awesome shifty polish.
“The inspiration picture is A’tuin the Great Star Turtle who travels through space with the Discworld atop his shell. This Discworld is the setting for the book inspiration, The Color of Magic by Terry Pratchett.”
Bottled Magic is the perfect polish from this description! I did not take my regular pics for this post. Bottled Magic was not easy to photograph. The polish looks black almost. It is actually a dark purple base with a green multichrome effect. You can see slight gold/red at extreme angles. The green shift makes this polish. It also has crushed silver holo shreds. The first coat was a bit patchy but the second coat built it up perfectly. I used 2 coats with top coat for my swatch.
What do you think? Check out my swatch video HERE! Make sure you add this polish to your wish list. You need to see it in person! Enjoy your Sunday night ❤
Hey peeps! How is your hump day? Today is Saturday for me so it’s been pretty quiet here. I don’t want to weigh this down with extra stuff so for all the deets, read Part 1! I will also put some info at the end of this post. Now we can dive right in to the polish.
Glitter Lips is “Red. Sparkly. Glamorous. A prerequisite of stage, the sexy look of red glitter lips is one of the most recognized elements of burlesque. Glitter Lips is a bright candy apple nail color with shades of scarlet, maroon, crimson and vermilion red micro glitter. This gorgeous red has a scattered holographic finish that works perfectly with it’s cranberry jelly-type base. Opacity is reached in 2-3 coats and top coat is recommended. If a pink glitter shade is more up your alley, see Glitter Lips‘ glourious cousin The Rhinestone Housewife!” I love a good red and this one has that slight texture that I also love so much! I used 3 thin coats plus top coat! Glitter Lips will be $12.50 USD.
I added some valentine’s art to this one ❤
Next is Boy-lesque. “Considered part of the Neo-Burlesque revival, boylesque is the term used to describe male performers in burlesque. While boylesque was not invented in Seattle, Seattle enjoys a vast variety of talented performers. This color is a soft khaki green with warm brown undertones and it applies like a dream. It’s both masculine and feminine at the same time, with a light green shimmer and flawlessly smooth minky finish.” This one is so unique. I have never seen anything like it. I used 2 coats with topcoat for this one. Boy-lesque will be $11.50.
I paired this with gold and swirls.
Burly-Q is awesome!”A nickname many performers use for burlesque. Burly-Q the nail color, starts with a stunning jungle-green base and contains scattered multi-sized opalescent glitter in shades of blues and lime greens. There is a multitude of green/blue and turquoise holographic micro glitter. It’s also lightly sprinkled with subtle pink/purple sparks, giving the jelly polish an astonishing depth. The squishy teal base is perfect for yielding to each of the fine elements; truly dimensional!” So mermaid like. I used 3 thin coats plus top coat. Burly-Q will be $12.50 USD.
Here is some art I did.
I don’t know why that flash shot is upside down. It’s not like that on my laptop?? Anywho, next up is Neo-burlesque. “Neo-Burlesque is the revival of burlesque performance. Though based on the traditional Burlesque art, the new form encompasses a wider range of performance and neo-burlesque acts can range from classic striptease to modern dance to comedic and witty parody. For 2018 color of the year, Neo-Burlesque was created with an ultra-violet purple base and packed with gold/copper chrome micro-flecks. Scattered throughout is an ultra-fine holographic dust and electric blue flecks. The finish is smooth as butter and in the direct sun, you’ll see a beautiful linear holographic effect.” Holy cow is this purple perfect! I used 2 coats with top coat for my swatch. This one will be available for $12.50 USD.
I did art for this one but I wasn’t happy with it so I never took pics.
This last one is called Show At Midnight and it’s my favorite! “Burlesque being a slightly subversive form of entertainment, frequently shows were speak easy style and later in the evening. A salute to the midnight hour, this polish is a shimmering, deep navy with scattered holographic glitter and an ever-so-subtle lapis blue sparkle. It’s everything you’d imagine when envisioning the dimensionally deep sky and tiny far-off galaxies.” Seriously a super stunner. Getting lost in this beauty is so easy. I used 2 coats with top coat but 1 coat would do it. This one will be $12.50 USD.
I added some night sky art to this baby.
That’s the whole Jet City Burlesque collection! This collection will be available in a mini (8 ml) set for $72.00 USD. Full sized (13 ml) will be available singly for the prices listed. They will also be available as a full size set for $110 USD. They are exclusive to The Rhinestone Housewife shop! “This collection was inspired by the Seattle burlesque scene that I was part of way back in the day. The burly-Q revival was fabulous and vibrant and I will always have fun remembering how we used to race from one gig to another on a Saturday night.” These will be releasing on February 14th, 2018. Now that you have seen them all, what one is your favorite? Make sure to visit my YouTube for the corresponding live swatches. Have a good rest of he week ❤
Hello! How are we on this bleh Monday? I can help with that bleh! I have pretties 🙂 A 10 piece Valentine’s Day collection called Jet City Burlesque. Whether you are into celebrating or not, this collection has something for you. Holo, shimmer, glitter, texture, creme, jelly… am I missing anything? Seriously, some of the best quality polish I have tried! Have you usedJoy Lacquer? I have and they are fabulous! I will say that these were all a tad thick. It could be the cold or maybe just the makers formula but either way they are workable without any tweaking! They are just thick for my taste. It’s all about preference. That being said, they are super smooth and the thickness makes for amazing stamping polish. Let’s get into the first 5!
Pink door is the first one. “Whether triple, colored or hidden, burlesque performances happen behind many different doors in the Seattle area. Every collection needs a soft pink hue and this one fits the bill as perfectly as the ballet pink slipper it was inspired by. Soothing and pleasant, Pink Door has a true creme finish and is opaque in 1-2 coats.” This is exactly right. Totally a 1 coater actually if you polish carefully. And she stamps! I used 2 coats with top coat for these pics. This one will be $10.00 USD.
I added some mermaid art with vinyls from Toadarrific Vinyls! I also used The Rhinestone Housewife also from this collection.
The next polish is also a crème! Stage Kitten: “This is the term used for the stage assistants that are responsible for gathering the performers garments after they strip out of them. The true unsung heroes of burlesque! Stage Kitten is a warm taupe, almost leaning mauve. The color looks as soft as a kitten and it’s finish is a rich true creme, similar to the color of a perfect vanilla latte.” Again, this is easily a 1 coat polish and it stamps. Joy’s crème polishes level out beautifully! This one will also be $10.00 USD.
The art I added to Stage Kitten also used Toadarrific Vinyls. Adorable unicorns using a few polishes from this collection!
Lost A Pastie! is up next. “Equal parts titillating and horror inducing, losing a pastie happens. You never know when or where but it strikes terror in the hearts of club owners in the Seattle area due to liquor laws. Lost a Pastie! the polish, is a marvelous interpretation of nude encrusted with Swarovoski crystal. It’s packed with holographic silver and gold glitter that appeals to the sparkle fanatic in all of us. It also contains a range of ultra-luminous orange, pink, teal and purple opalescent glitters. The nude polish base contains a light blue flash that subtly complements the abundant glitter effects, and creates a truly exhilarating finish. Full opacity is reached in 3 coats or you may try applying one coat over Stage Kitten, a similar nude base color. This color is optimally applied lightly for the first 2 coats, allowing it to dry slightly between each.” I used 3 thin coats for my swatch. it will have a slight glitter texture to it so make sure to use a good top coat! Also, a peel off glitter for easy removal! This will be $12.50 USD for a full size.
And again with the Toadarrific Vinyls… This time a little wintery. I used Show At Midnight for that gorgeous dark sparkle.
The Rhinestone Housewife is a favorite of mine from the Jet City Burlesque collection. “A tagline given to Hottie McNaughty, it embodies everything that Hottie stood for. A sparkly house with a quirky gem-of-a-hostess. This raspberry color is the pink cousin of our luscious red Glitter Lips polish. It sparkles and shimmers with facets just like that of it’s namesake. Silver sparks with a chrome effects are scattered in with copious amounts of pink holographic microglitter in shades of magenta, punchy pink strawberry and bubblegum. This mouthwatering shade is a must-have for pink polish lovers.” This one has a slight texture to it. You can leave it textured or add a good top coat to smooth it out. I used 2 coats with top coat to make that sparkle pop! Sooooooooo pretty! This will be available full size for $12.50 USD.
Yay!! Some stamping 🙂 I love stamping. It’s my favorite. I added some bling to the bling!
Lastly for today we have Hottie McNaughty. “A local Seattle performer, Hottie has been described as the love child of Bugs Bunny and Carol Burnett. Hottie was known for using humor and ‘giving good face’ in her performances and performing to odd and unique music. One of her signature stage colors being orange, the polish made to represent her started with a fire-y tangerine base semi-creme base. It’s scattered with orange and contrasting purple iridescent glitter ranging from medium to large sizes. The more subtle elements include blue, orange and gold microglitter shimmers, giving this crelly (creme-jelly) a fantastically cheerful finish. For optimal application it’s recommended to use 1-2 thin coats, first avoiding most larger iridescent glitters and before the final coat, close the lid and roll the bottle again. For the last coat, permit any and all orange/purple glitter to be caught on the brush, allowing it to lay smoothly on the top layer.” That is all accurate and good advice. Definitely use a good top coat to smooth the glitters! I used 2 coats with top coat. Full sized bottle of this will be $12.50 USD.
And back to vinyls lol! I used Show At Midnight to contrast the bright orange!
So, what do you think so far? I freaking love them and this is only half! Which is your favorite so far? Head over to my YouTube for a swatch video for the first 5 polishes. Or, you can check my Facebook and Instagram for quick single swatches! Come back tomorrow for part 2 🙂 have a great night ❤
